Life's
3 greatest challenges
(1
John 2:16)- For all that is in the
world -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes,
and the pride of life.
In
this life, we cannot live without air, water, and
food. Some people think of sex as a need. Now it may
cause you to tremble, shake, and feel uncomfortable,
but you will wake up the next morning still alive. You
can go 6 months without sex, but not without air,
water, or food.
The
five senses; taste, touch, smell, hearing, and seeing,
all report to the “carnal” mind – which is the
enemy of God. I
think the greatest battle we all face in our lives is
the battle within, the battle between the flesh and
the spirit.

#1 – FLESH: what we feel (emotions/body)
· Challenge
#2 – EYES: what we see (how it affects us)
· Challenge
#3 – PRIDE: Arrogance (thinking you are special)

Corinthians 10:13 reminds us that ALL temptation
is common and God will provide a way of escape. Yet,
most “carnal” people think that they got it all
together……….until trouble shows up. People like
this will believe almost anything. This is what makes
rumors so powerful. Why? Because rumors are carried by
haters; spread by fools; and accepted by idiots.
Likewise,
many “carnal” people think that they have to get
themselves right BEFORE coming to church. Yet, it is
just the opposite. We have to get saved to be right.
If you could get right without Him, then there would
be no need for God in the first place. Then all
preachers would have to go back to their day job,
including those who are not living righteously (LOL).
If you are in a place of worship where the shepherd
continues to disrespect God's word, then you should do
one of 2 things. (1) If you are strong enough - pray
to God for restoration of their soul. (2) If you are a
weak Christian - find a place where righteous living
prevails and get yourself strengthened.
What
is my point? There is a whirlwind of foolishness going
on in our society. If we are not careful to protect
ourselves from it, we will self-destruct by violating
our personal relationship with God, breaching our
marriage vows, drinking ourselves silly, abusing
drugs/medical prescriptions, all in an effort to fill
a void reserved for the “PRESENCE OF GOD!” When
people get intoxicated, high, or euphorically
inebriated, it is always in an effort to medicate
themselves against failure, pain, discomfort, or loss.
Instead of making us feel better, it pushes us further
into an abyss of regurgitating cycles that causes us
to stumble around in mediocrity……for years until
we finally die.
Food
for thought today: Some
people create their own storms and get mad when it
rains!
WAKE
UP! By the time most people figure out what life is
really about, it’s time to go. Get it together, suck
it up, and drive on! If you are still breathing, God
wants to use you to encourage somebody else. That is
the ONLY reason you are still here.
Prayer:
Father, bless my life, my health, my finances, my
mind, my relationships, my ability, my speech, my
thoughts and my ways to line up with You. In the
precious name of Jesus. Amen.
